PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a container setup apparatus which can semi-automatically set up a container into a box wherein a manual area can be specified in areas for inspection, cleaning and or the like. SOLUTION: The container setup apparatus sets up a container A comprising a base plate, both inner and outer flaps standing on the base plate so that they can rise/fall, and a movable locking member 7 and a fixed locking portion provided on corresponding portions of both flaps for fixing the flaps wherein pairs of inner and outer flaps are folded on the base plate. The apparatus includes an opening means 53 to be inserted below the folded outer flaps for opening the pair of the outer flaps by a predetermined degree, a standing means 63 for opening the outer flaps which have been opened by a predetermined degree in a standing state, a manual area 14 provided in a subsequent stage to the standing means 63 for manually causing the inner flaps to stand, and an engaging means 95 provided in a subsequent stage to the manual area 14 for locking the movable locking member 7 with the fixed locking portion to form the container A into a box shape.
