An automatic voltage regulator having a battery charging function is provided to reduce a manufacturing cost and improve the degree of freedom in a system configuration by performing modularization of parts of an integrated device. An automatic voltage regulator having a battery charging function includes an automatic voltage regulator(410), a battery charging unit(420), and a control unit(430). The automatic voltage regulator(410) receives and converts AC power from a predetermined generator into DC power. The automatic voltage regulator(410) provides the DC power to a field winding, and maintains an output voltage of the generator uniformly. The battery charging unit(420) receives, rectifies and converts the AC power from the generator into the DC power. The battery charging unit(420) drops a voltage of the DC power and applies the dropped voltage to a predetermined battery. The control unit(430) detects the voltages of the generator and the battery at the same time. The control unit(430) applies and controls an output signal generated through an internal calculation to the automatic voltage regulator(410) and the battery charging unit(420).
