PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide uniform- and coarse-grained titanium carbide powder which lends itself to hard materials, such as cermet, sintered hard alloy and ceramic, and yields uniform sintered compacts and the uniform- and coarse- grained titanium carbide powder in the field of the titanium carbide, etc., which lends itself to conductive polymers and a method of manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: The titanium carbide powder is formed by using titanium oxide and carbon as raw materials and incorporating one or two kinds of Co and Ni at 0.1 to 0.3 wt.% of the titanium carbide powder therein. The range of the grain sizes thereof is such that the Fsss value thereof is >=1.0 μm and the index Fsss value/(6/(specific gravity × BET value)) indicating the size of the secondary particles to the primary particles is <=2.5. |
