PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heavy metal immobilizing material that is inexpensive and that is capable of conducting the immobilizing treatment of heavy metals in soil at the original site so that the crops cultivated there are not adversely influenced even if the soil for the crops is polluted by a heavy metal such as cadmium, mercury, lead and the like, and also to provide a immobilizing method using the same. SOLUTION: The heavy metal immobilizing material used in soil for the crops is characterized by comprising a cyanamide-containing substance. The immobilizing method of heavy metals used in soil for the crops is characterized by incorporating 1.2 kg or less (not including 0) of the cyanamide-containing substance in terms of cyanamide per one cubic meter of the soil for the crops of which the pF value (the energy level of soil water content) is 3 or less. |
