PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source on an end of an insertion part without increasing the number of signal lines to be disposed on the insertion part of an endoscope. SOLUTION: An illuminating light source 17 is provided on the end 11A of the insertion part 11 of the endoscope 10. A pair of angle wires 22 and 23 made of a conductive material for constituting an angle mechanism in a bending part of the endoscope 10 are disposed along the part 11. A plurality of LEDs are provided on the light source 17. A lead 30A of an anode side of the light source 17 is connected to the end, near the end 11A, of the wire 22. A lead 30K of a cathode side of the light source 17 is connected to the end, near the end 11A, of the wire 23. A positive terminal of an LED drive circuit 18 provided in an operation part 12 is connected to a part near the part 12 side of the wire 22, and a negative terminal is connected to a part near the part 12 of the wire 23. Current is supplied from the circuit 18 to the light source 17 through the wires 22 and 23.
