FIELD: ion-exchange materials. SUBSTANCE: ion-exchange resin that can be applied for detoxification and iodination of mineral drinking water is prepared by treating resin with solution containing potassium iodide and iodine at 40-50 C. Additional saturation of resin triiodide into pentaiodide is performed by stepwise dispensing of calculated quantity of iodine in such a manner as to prevent weight concentration of crystalline iodine from being in excess to concentration of iodide in aqueous solution, after which resin is incubated for 40-65 h in the same periodically stirred aqueous solution.
