FIELD: measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: linear movement pickup has measurement rule comprising backing 1 and glass guide 10, measurement diffraction grating 2, reading head 3 with radiation source 4, collimator 5, indicating grating 6, matrix 7 of photodetectors, two groups of bearings 14, 15, 18 and 16, 17, 19 for travel of reading head with reference to measurement rule. Guide 10 is made fast to butt 13 of backing. Each groups of bearings includes support bearings and spring-loaded bearings which ensure contact of support bearings with datum surfaces of backing and guide correspondingly.
