PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that an LD edge pumped laser having average output exceeding 50 W is difficult to realize due to thermal cracking of a laser medium. SOLUTION: The LD pumped laser device comprises an LD stack 1 of a plurality of LD array bard 2 and FAST direction collimate lenses 3 for line collimating the outgoing light from the LD array bars having a large divergence angle in the same optical axis direction, a down collimator 5 for collimating the outgoing light from the LD stack 1 while converging, a cylindrical lens 6 for receiving the collimated light provided with a protrusion in the direction perpendicular to the arranging direction of the LD array bard 2, a laser medium 9 having an edge subjected to total reflection coating of the laser oscillation wavelength and receiving the light passed through the cylindrical lens 6, and means for cooling a part of the laser medium 9 including the edge with transparent fluid. |
