PURPOSE: A cushioning type hood locking device of an automobile is provided to minimize impact transmitted to pedestrians because a hood falls downwardly by separating a latch link and a rotation link of a striker from each other by an impact sensing lever when the car comes into collision with the pedestrians. CONSTITUTION: A cushioning type hood locking device of an automobile includes a latch(4) mounted on a radiator support panel, a striker mounted on a hood(1) to correspond to the latch, and a striker position adjusting part(20) for controlling rotation location of a rotation link(16). The striker has a fixed link(12) fixed to the hood at an end, a latch link(14) hinged at a free end of the fixed link, latched to the latch and having a longitudinal hole(14a) formed at the other end, and the rotation link having a pin(17) at a free end to insert the pin into the hole of the latch link and hinged to the hood.
