PURPOSE: A correcting device of geometrical defects of a cathode ray tube is provided to decrease the volume of the cathode ray tube without an auxiliary deviation system. CONSTITUTION: A device(11) for correcting geometrical defects of a cathode ray tube(10) comprises a unit(111) for adjusting spatial digital factors, and the spatial digital factors control a digital circuit(112) for spatially processing images displayed on the screen. The adjusting unit is controlled by control signals(16) which are generated by a user by means of a remote control unit(12) and a control interface(113). The correction is automatic when the defects are due to certain characteristics of the image to be displayed, such as brilliance. In this case, a measuring unit(110) evaluates the brilliance of the image and generates a control signal(17) as a function of the brilliance.
