<p>Cpds. of formula : (where R is R2 and R3 = a double bond between C and N when R4 is alkyl (C2-C4) and R1 is the same as R; or R2 is H; R3 and R4 together are oxygen when R1 is alkyl (C1-C4) or the gp. R). The cpds. are hypolipaemic and hypocholesterolaemic; also used as intermediates. Daily oral dose in man is 2-6 g., using unit doses of 500-2000 mg. Veterinary use is also stated.</p> |
