<p>PURPOSE: An apparatus for removing an afterimage effect and a method for the same are provided to previously prevent the afterimage effect displayed on a liquid crystal display(LCD), thereby providing a smooth display to a user. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for removing an afterimage effect includes a memory(10) for storing an image signal inputted from outside, a comparing block(11) for comparing data read from the memory(10) or data written at the memory(10), a control block(12) for outputting an on screen display(OSD) RGB previously stored at the memory(10) in response to the comparing result when the read and the write data are maintained during a predetermined time, a signal processing block(13) for outputting and converting the inputted image signal into a desired format and for outputting and converting the data so as to display as the moving picture is displayed on a monitor(15) if the OSD RGB is transmitted from the control block(12), a monitor driver(14), a monitor(15) for displaying the signal processed signals.</p> |
