The invention relates to the implementation of heterogeneous catalytic reactions in a moving-bed reactor. Expansion volumes for the catalyst are provided in the defining walls of the catalyst bed, said volumes being easily created by means of at least two graduated conical-or polygonal-frustrum-shaped walls. Said implementation reduces the catalyst abrasion and avoids damaging the catalyst screens.
