PURPOSE: A hydraulic valve lifter for a vehicle is provided to absorb valve lash reduction followed by expansion of a valve under low temperature by improving material of a plunger seat. CONSTITUTION: A hydraulic valve lifter for a vehicle comprises a body vertically moving by using a cam and a plunger vertically moving a valve stem. In the hydraulic valve lifter, the material of a plunger seat has coefficient of thermal expansion of the range from 15x10-6/deg.C to 20x10-6/deg.C. The material of the plunger seat is composed of SUH35 having coefficient of thermal expansion of 18x10-6/deg.C. Accordingly, valve lash reduction by expansion of a valve is controlled.
