Control of a route guidance system for road vehicles is based upon analysed route condition data

Start and end points of the journey are defined and a route searching process is set in operation using a data base map. A traffic prognosis is computed using additional data relating to known conditions. The generated travel scenario is then analysed and the results used dynamically to modify the route if necessary.
