PURPOSE: An automatic lamp device of a vehicle and a control method thereof are provided to automatically turn on a lamp when the vehicle travels in the region of excessive fog or precipitation. CONSTITUTION: A sensor(10) detects the fog or raindrop and outputs an electrical signal. A lamp control unit(20) determines the lighting on of a head lamp and a small lamp by receiving the electrical signal of the sensor and outputs an electrical signal. A head lamp and a small lamp relays(30,40) are operated to light on the head lamp and the small lamp by receiving the electrical signal outputted from the lamp control unit.
