PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of hermetically sealed container, a method that prevents a container and a lid from being buckled by the pressurizing force of a welding tool, in friction stir welding between the container and the lid, and also to provide a manufacturing method of an enclosed cell. SOLUTION: In welding by the friction stir welding method by inserting with pressure the welding tool 21, which is made of a material harder than a workpiece, into a weld zone between the container 1 and the lid 2 while the tool is rotated; the manufacturing method is characterized by welding while the container 1 is pressurized from the outer circumference by a compressive force (F1 -F8 ), welding while presence/absence of contact is detected between the welding tool 21 and the weld zone, and making the inserting depth of the welding tool 21 not more than the thickness of the lid 2. In addition, the container 1 is square and provided with a thick part 10 in the corners for placing the lid 2 on, so that the container 1 and the lid 2 are welded, with the lid 2 placed on the thick part 10. |
