PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a web or sheet drying device which is capable of improving the release properties of a web from a retaining means by preventing the web from being expanded during drying the web and also preventing dust from being generated by the formation of a thin film of the web on the surface of the retaining means during retaining the web by the retaining means, even when the web shows a high solvent content before drying. SOLUTION: In the process of drying the web 12, a pin 36 for retaining both side edge parts of the web 12 is cooled at the expanding temperature or below of the web 12 by a blow-off type cooler 20A and at the same time, the pin 36 right before biting the web 12 is cooled by means of a duct type cooler 20B at a dope gelling temperature +15 deg.C or lower by a solvent film forming process. Thus, it is possible to prevent the web from being expanded or sticking to the retaining means. |
