PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recorder which can restrict to a minimum, a non recording part which is generated to a leading end part of a paper. SOLUTION: The leading end of the paper is detected by a sensor S4. The paper 101 is transferred to a position where the leading end becomes opposite to a recording head K for jetting a black ink. Before the leading end of the paper is nipped by a pair 206 of paper discharge rollers, images are recorded onto the paper 101 by the black ink while a carriage unit 4 is scanned back and forth.
