PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic head having a new configuration attainable of high-density recording, its manufacturing method, and a high-performance magnetic disk device using the magnetic head. SOLUTION: A side magnetic body 10 is arranged in at least a magnetic gap 7 forming the track of a recording head. Thus, the trouble of a track width reduction is eliminated to reduce unnecessary magnetic flux leakage from the gap. Therefore, the recording head of a narrow track width enabling high- density recording is realized.
