PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide stream type contents with which a rate corresponding to the quality of contents can be selected. SOLUTION: A contents providing server 30 for providing the stream type contents to the terminal of a user on the Internet 1 is provided with a contents menu providing function 301 for presenting the menu of contents to a user 10, a compression rate selecting function 302 for making the user 10 select the compression rate of contents after contents are selected out of the menu of contents presented to the user 10, a data compressing function 303 for compressing the contents with the data compression rate selected by the compression rate selecting function 302, a contents transmitting function 304 for transmitting the contents compressed by the data compressing function 303 to the user, and rate demanding function 305 for demanding the rate to the user 10 after the user 10 views the contents. |
