METHOD FOR DETECTING VISUAL FIELD DIRECTION DEVIATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method which detects the deviation of the visual field direction of an image pickup device, not necessary to previously specify a part as a template in a reference image. SOLUTION: The reference edge image of a reference image picked up by the image pickup device and the input edge image of a current input image are previously found, and the reference image projection of the pixels of the reference edge image of the reference image on (x) axis and (y) axis and the input image projection of the pixels of the input edge image of the input image on the (x) axis and (y) axis are generated; and the position shift quantity of the input image projection from the reference image projection is found to detect the deviation of the visual field direction of the image pickup device.
