The invention relates to a method for transmitting information via a packet-oriented network (LAN). According to said method, for a first communication terminal (TKA), which is connected to a communication device (PBX) via the packet-oriented network (LAN), if there is an existing call connection or call switching to and/or from a second communication terminal (TKB), which is connected to the communication device (PBX) via the packet-oriented network (LAN), useful information (NI) is transmitted to the second communication terminal (TKB) via said packet-oriented network (LAN). If there is an existing call connection, or call switching to and/or from a third communication terminal (TKC), which is connected to the communication device (PBX) in a time-slot oriented manner, the call is switched to the communication device (PBX).
