The seat to the side of a frame (2) can be lowered at least to ground level from which it can be raised to a seat position. The seat has a back-rest which remains in the sitting position when the seat is lowered and is horizontal wen the seat is at floor level. The seat is detachable from the frame which is mounted on wheels (4) at the front or back.
