A new active agent combination (I) comprises: (A) carnitine and/or one or more acyl-carnitines; and (B) agents which inhibit the action of nitrogen monoxide synthase (NOS) in warm-blooded organisms. An Independent claim is also included for cosmetic or dermatological preparations containing (I).
