PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processing machine capable of preventing processing chips from adhering to components o be protected like a male screw member and a guide means by an inexpensive and easily replaceable protection means. SOLUTION: The protection means 64a is constructed from at least one protective member 70a, 72a formed by a synthetic resin sheet or film which is kept wound in a roll in the free state when no tensile force is applied and unwound by applying tensile force thereto. The protective member 70a, 72a itself can be formed by winding the synthetic resin sheet or film in a roll and heating the same in the wound state for designated time.
