PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a leader, to which a Cable Bear (R) moved in the longitudinal direction while being moved in the vertical direction is not caught. SOLUTION: The leader is opened to left-right sides by a leader body 35 composed of a front plate 32, a rear plate 33 and a connecting plate 34 and protective members 36 fixed at the end sections of the front plate 32 and the rear plate 33 and has an approximately U-shaped guide section 31. In the leader, the protective members 36 have arcuate-section forming surfaces being wider than the plate thickness of the front plate 32 and the rear plate 33 and being directed in the longitudinal direction. Accordingly, since the contact areas of the Cable Bears for the protective members 36 are widened and the leader is formed in the arcuate-section forming surface, the Cable Bears moved in the longitudinal direction while being moved in the vertical direction are not caught.
