PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vortex flowmeter which has two vortex formers in a pipeline for measuring the flow rate so that either generator can be located on the upstream side from each other to measure either flowing fluid. SOLUTION: The vortex flowmeter comprises vortex formers mounted in a pipeline of a fluid for causing a Karman vortex, a vortex detecting sensor for detecting the Karman vortex caused by the vortex former, and flow measuring unit for measuring the flow rate of the fluid flowing in the pipeline based on signals detected by the sensor. The first and second vortex formers are mounted in series with respect to the fluid flowing direction in the pipeline so that either can locate upstream.
