PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for oxidizing and deodorizing malodorous substances contained in night soil, domestic waste water, livestock excrement or filth and drainage generated from a marine product processing plant and a hospital, with high efficiency and at low cost. SOLUTION: The deodorizing and sterilizing method comprises a step of scattering or mixing a single substance or mixed solution of a hydrogen peroxide, a solution with a tartaric acid or a citric acid in the filth or the drainage causing various type of malodors.
