The invention concerns a zooming method on part of an image consisting of pixels and which represents a terrain flown over by an aircraft, the image being modulated, pixel by pixel, by a shading information representing the land topography, said shading information being determined via a calculation produced, in the position mark of a display screen of the aircraft, pixel by pixel, based on the altitudes of the neighbouring pixels of the current pixel in the case of a non-zoomed image, in the case of a zoomed image with a zooming factor the value of which belongs to a distinct given range of the range whereto belongs the unit zooming factor whereto the non-zoomed image corresponds, the shading information being determined by means of a calculation based on the altitudes of the pixels further from the current pixel than the neighbouring pixels, of a distance factor pertaining to said given range. |
