PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a braking device provided with a braking energy accumulator shortening a brake stopping distance by fastening a brake starting and recovering a braking energy by using a stepless speed change gear, and capable of gaining a maximum coefficient of friction between a wheel and a road. SOLUTION: The braking device applying a braking force on the wheel is provided with the stepless speed change gear 12 and the braking energy accumulator 11, and a brake torque detector 1 for detecting a brake torque applied to the tire is arranged between an axle supporting the wheel and the braking device.
