PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate a pattern signal at high speed without utilizing a plurality of pattern generators. SOLUTION: There are provided a pattern memory 1 comprising at least two independent memory blocks 1a and 1b; a memory control means M for alternately writing a plurality of pattern data continuous in a predetermined sequence to each of the memory blocks 1a and 1b, generating a read address based on a read instruction supplied from the outside, and reading out pattern data from each of the memory blocks 1a and 1b in a predetermined sequence parallelly; a pattern data selection means S for selecting and outputting the pattern data read out from each of the memory blocks 1a and 1b to be in the predetermined sequence, and a waveform generation circuit 8 for generating the pattern signal on the basis of the plurality of mutually adjacent pattern data read out from each of the memory blocks 1a and 1b among the pattern data outputted from the pattern data selection means S.
