Gasket and its fabrication method

The cylinder head gasket has a spacer layer (6) between two functional layers (7, 8) with ribs (9, 10) which face each other and surround the ports (2). The upper side of the spacer layer has a groove (13) which is covered by a metal layer (12). An Independent claim is included for a method for making the gasket.
