PURPOSE: An interface device for interfacing a QPSK(Quadrature Phase Shifting Keying) demodulator and a viterbi decoder and a method thereof are provided, which increases a BER(Bit Error Rate) performance by interfacing the QPSK demodulator and the viterbi decoder. CONSTITUTION: A QPSK(Quadrature Phase Shift Keying) demodulator(110) generates an I(Inphase) signal and a Q(Quadrature) signal using binary data. A phase position judgement and control unit(120) controls phases and amplitudes of the I and Q signal after judging positions of the I and Q signal being output from the QPSK demodulator. And a viterbi decoder(130) performs a soft decision by decoding I and Q signal whose phases are controlled from the phase position judgement and control unit.
