PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an embryo freezing apparatus capable of performing it for a short period, saving an energy, and inexpensive and easy to handle. SOLUTION: The freezing apparatus has an external vessel 10 filled with a liquid, an inner vessel 20 which is sunk in the external vessel and filled with the same liquid, and a fertilized egg preserving tube, the tip of which protrudes into the liquid of the external vessel and is held in the inner vessel. The fertilized egg preserving tube 40 is mounted in the inner vessel and the temperature of the liquid 16 has a low temperature distribution, and the temperature of the liquid 26 of the inner vessel 20 and the temperature of the upper liquid 17 of the external vessel 10 contacted with a fertilized ovum preserving egg 40 are equal. Then, the whole liquid in the external vessel is stirred and cooled uniformly, so that a controlling means 1 for starting freezing from the tip of the fertilized egg preserving tube provided in the freezing apparatus for fertilized ovum. |
