<p>Pastes and fluids are mixed, softened and homogenised by subjecting, in a thin layer, to a gravity mixing treatment. The material to be treated is spread on the interior face of a cylindrical surface by a series of rotating discs. The apparatus comprises a casing with a cylindrical treatment surface, discs supported for rotation relative to this surface, and an axle support in the centre. The discs have conical peripheral surfaces, and may be provided with notches. The method and apparatus enable pastes and fluids to be mixed and homogenised continuously. The paste or fluid is uniformly processed. The apparatus is suitable for the preparation of adhesives from natural and synthetic rubbers.</p> |
