The use of near infra-red (NIR) for curing adhesive or sealing agents, preferably based on polyurethane binding agents comprising surface-deactivated solid polyisocyanates in polyol-polyamine mixtures permits a method for gluing panes to a vehicle in a modular manner. According to the invention, the adhesive strip can be applied to the edge of the pane, which has optionally been treated with a primer, in a spatially and temporally separate process. A pre-prepared pane module of this type can then be inserted into the bodywork on the production line in a car-assembly plant, the motor vehicle flange being optionally pre-heated by NIR radiation. The adhesive or sealing agent is completely cured after the insertion of the pane by irradiating the outer edge of the pane with NIR radiation.
