Visualization method includes provision of data to be visualized and visualization of the data in at least two separately controllable perception regions in the observation field of an observer. Prior to visualization the data is analyzed to determine how effectively it will be perceived by the observer in the individual perception regions (140I-140III). Dependent on the result of the analysis the data is assigned to its optimum perception region. An Independent claim is made for a device for presentation of data from one or more data sources (110- 116) to a user in an optimized manner. A visualization device (130) used with the data presentation device can be in the form of data glasses, a retina scanning display, a head-up display, etc.
