PURPOSE: A device for reproducing CD-ROM data and embodying an electronic book in a PDA and a method for controlling the same are provided to embody the electronic book by connecting functions of a CD reproducing device and the Internet so as to supply multimedia information. CONSTITUTION: If a dialing is performed from a user through a key pad switch module, a PDA control unit(100) outputs an inputted digit signal, tries a communication connection, converts the dialing into a tone signal, outputs the tone signal through a speaker, controls a CD reproduction device control unit(170), drives a CD reproducing device(180), controls an LCD control unit(190), and drives an LCD(200). A mobile communication control unit(150) receives a digit signal being output from the PDA control unit(100), controls a wireless communication module(160) including a wireless modem and a radio Tx/Rx unit, and performs a mobile communication function. The CD reproduction device control unit(170) loads CD-ROM data in accordance with a control of the PDA control unit(100), reads the stored data, and supplies a service to the user. The CD reproducing device(180) drives CD-ROM data in accordance with a control of the CD reproduction device control unit(170).
