PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a thermocouple, for a molten metal, in which an alloy strand after its wear is recovered easily and in which a conventional display part can be used as it is. SOLUTION: A protective tube 13 which is composed of a heat-resistant material is inserted into, and passed through, the inside of a heat insulating tube 4 by keeping a gap, and the closed tip part 13a of the protective tube 13 protrudes from the tip of the tube 4. An adhesive 8 is filled into the gap between the tip of the tube 4 and the protective tube 13. A pair of alloy strands 9, 10 whose compositions are different are inserted into the inside of the protective tube 13, and a temperature measuring junction 14 which is formed by coupling tips of the pair of alloy strands 9, 10 is fixed to the inner surface at the tip of the protective tube 13.
