PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To overcome such a problem that a user of a conventional toy, which provides enjoyment for the user by flickering light beams from display elements forming characters and pictures, is easily bored by the toy because the design of the elements being flickered is fixed. SOLUTION: The flickeringly light emitting display device is provided with first and second displays 21 and 31 and a main body section 3 that is provided with a flickering circuit 7 to turn-on and turn-off light emission of EL element light emitting bodies. The displays 21 and 31 are made by pasting together a printed sheet 42 on which many display elements 29a to 29f or 33a to 33e are printed, a base sheet 44 on which EL element light emitting bodies 45 that individually make the display elements emit light and an electrically conductive film 43 are provided and an insulating film 46 on which wiring conductors 51a to 51g connected to the bodies 45 are provided. The circuits on the display 21 and 31 sides and the circuits on the section 3 side are freely connected and disconnected to from each other by connectors 9 and 27. A plurality of flickering patterns by flickering circuits are selected by a switch 13. Thus, display elements having different designs are turned-on and turned-off by a single flickering circuit.
