<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bactericidal agent emitting chlorine dioxide by oxidation of a chlorite and extended in its active period. SOLUTION: This bactericidal agent comprises a chlorite and a majority of porous matter, for example, 0.2-10.0 wt.% of the chlorite and 60-99.7 wt.% of the powdery or granular porous matter. Thus, owing to the moisture- absorbing and moisture-conditioning functions of the porous matter, even at a humid place where the rate of oxidation of the chlorite is accelerated, the oxidation of the chlorite can be suppressed through keeping the humidity at low levels, therefore chlorine dioxide can be formed over a long period through delaying the rate of chlorine dioxide formation. Further, the porous matter adsorbes the chlorine dioxide gas and emits it as well, therefore even after ending chlorine dioxide formation by the oxidation of the chlorite, this degerming agent can retain its bactericidal power for a moderate period of time owing to the chlorine dioxide gas emitted from the porous matter.</p> |
