PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector that is capable of achieving small size while securing locking force of the lance to the terminal fitting. SOLUTION: A pair of lances 29L, 29R, which are capable of bending deformation in horizontal direction and have locking protrusions 32, 34 capable of locking with the female terminal fitting 10, are provided on both side faces of the cavity 23, and these pair of lances 29L, 29R are elastically locked with the female terminal fitting 10, thereby the female terminal fitting 10 is prevented from pulling out. Hence, the dimension of the cavity in the height direction can be made small, thereby low height of the connector can be achieved. Also, locking force of the lance to the female terminal fitting can be secured.
