PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head cleaning mechanism for a magnetic recording/ reproducing device, capable of maintaining the cleaning function of a cleaning roller for cleaning a magnetic head for a long time. SOLUTION: The head cleaning mechanism rotated into contact with a cylinder 1a to clean a magnetic head 2 disposed in a rotating rotary side drum 1a is provided with a first cleaning roller 7 rotatably held on a first roller shaft 6 erected on an arm 4 to absorb stains when the mechanism is rotated into contact with the rotary side drum 1a to clean the magnetic head 2, and a second cleaning roller 10 rotatably held on a second roller shaft 9 erected on the arm 4 to be brought into contact with the first cleaning roller 7 so as to be rotated, and adapted to transfer the stains of the first cleaning roller 7 to clean the same.
