PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical sensor by which a proper input set value can be obtained in a short time and to provide an image formation apparatus using the optical sensor. SOLUTION: The optical sensor is provided with a light emitting part which emits light at a quantity of emitted light according to an input voltage value, a light receiving part which outputs an output voltage value according to a quantity of received light, and a control means which decides a set input voltage value with reference to the light emitting part. The control means gradually changes the input voltage value with reference to the light emitting part, it adds the output voltage value from the light receiving part at each input voltage value so as to obtain an output voltage added value, and it decides the set input voltage value with reference to the light emitting part on the basis of the output voltage added value. |
