PURPOSE: A light guide panel designing simulator for a backlight of a liquid crystal display device is provided to display the light scattering in a transmissive light guide panel by inputting variables for the size of a particle, the wavelength of light, the kind of scattering element, the concentration rate, the size of the light guide panel. CONSTITUTION: In a light guide panel designing simulator for a backlight of a liquid crystal display device, a random scattering strength per angle is obtained by inverse conversion method to generate an angle probability density function, light is chased in a light guide panel by monte-carlo technology by determining an average free path via the scattering efficiency, and a factor of the light guide panel is optimized while changing the size and kind of the scattering element and a weight percentage.
