PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet head and an ink-jet recorder capable of driving with low power consumption and low energy, discharging a high-viscosity ink and improved in ink discharge characteristics. SOLUTION: The ink jet head has a head chip and an air damper 60 set to the middle of an ink supply passage for supplying ink to the head chip. The head chip discharges ink filled inside grooves from nozzle openings by impressing a driving voltage to electrodes set to side walls of the grooves formed to a piezoelectric ceramic plate and changing the volume in the grooves. The air damper 60 generates a negative pressure into the head chip. The ink jet head has a heating means 80 comprising a damper plate 81 and a heater 90. The damper plate 81 is arranged inside an ink storage part 61 for holding ink in the air damper 60 and is formed of a heat conducting material extended to the outside of the air damper 60. The heater 90 heats a part 83 of the damper plate 81 extended to the outside of the air damper 60. The ink in the ink storage part 61 is heated by the heating means 80. |
