PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for adjusting a harvesting port of a root vegetable-harvesting machine automatically to a ridge. SOLUTION: A front body 28 on which a protruding trigger 29 is placed is fixed on a machine body 1 at an upper front position of a harvesting port 6 via a holding body 25. A rear body 31 is placed behind the front body 28 in a vertically freely movable manner via parallel link plates 32, 33, 34, 35. Above the top face of the rear body 31, an upper proximity switch 37 for digging and a lower proximity switch 38 for digging are placed above and below the protruding trigger 29, respectively. A turning trigger 48 is placed in such a manner that it protrudes obliquely upward from a laterally swinging body 39 placed behind the rear body 31. On one side of the rear body 31, an upper proximity switch 44 for oscillation and a lower proximity switch 45 for oscillation are placed above and below the front end of the turning trigger 48, respectively, on the turning loci of the front end of the turning trigger 48. A left and a right sled-shaped contact 58, 59 which are placed on both the lower ends of the laterally swinging body 39 at the same heights and protrude downward, are set in a reversely truncated chevron shape toward the progressing direction.
