PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To certainly clean the flat surface P of a work W having the flat surface P and a stepped part S. SOLUTION: The work cleaning apparatus 1 is equipped with the cleaning head 21 coming into contact with the flat surface P of the work W and a head transfer mechanism 20 for holding the cleaning head 21 in a freely movable manner. The cleaning head 21 is held by a head holder 25 and a spring 24 is interposed between the head holder 25 and the transfer mechanism main body 20a of the head transfer mechanism 20. The cleaning head 21 is always pressed to the stepped part S by the spring 24 and the cleaning head 21 is transferred to the stepped part S in this state by the head transfer mechanism 20.
