PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive apparatus for treating wet refuse, which has a simple structure, namely, has no mechanical and electrical structure and in which wet refuse can be composted surely by simple operation without developing an insect and generating a malodor. SOLUTION: The apparatus body 1 of this wet refuse treating apparatus is supported to be rotated and is constituted to have air permeability. The whole area of the inside wall of the apparatus body 1 is covered with a nonwoven fabric 17. A desired seed bacterium 27 for decomposing wet refuse in put in the wet refuse housing space 16 of the apparatus body 1, wet refuse is then thrown in the space 16 and the apparatus body 1 is rotated multiple times by hand to agitate them.
